POINT PLEASANT BOROUGH MAN CHARGED WITH ATTEMPTED MURDER TO REMAIN DETAINED PENDING TRIAL

Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer announced that on January 26, 2024, the Honorable Rochelle Gizinski, J.S.C., ordered that Juan Santiago-Rojas, 31, of Point Pleasant Borough, shall remain detained in the Ocean County Jail pending trial on the charges of Attempted Murder and Aggravated Assault.

 

Santiago-Rojas has been lodged in the Ocean County Jail since his extradition to Ocean County, New Jersey, from Wilmington, North Carolina, on January 12, 2024.  The detention hearing was handled by Assistant Prosecutor Kimberly Carr.

 

The charges referenced above are merely accusations and the press and public are reminded that all defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
