LAKEWOOD TOWNSHIP MAN SENTENCED TO STATE PRISON FOR NARCOTICS DISTRIBUTION

Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer announced that on November 1, 2024, Timothy Myers, 52, of Lakewood, was sentenced by the Honorable Kenneth T. Palmer, J.S.C., to ten years New Jersey State Prison relative to his previously entered guilty plea to Possession of More than One Half Ounce of Cocaine with Intent to Distribute in connection with an incident that occurred on July 4, 2023, in Lakewood Township.  Myers pled guilty to the charge before Judge Palmer on June 19, 2024.

On July 4, 2023, Detectives from the Lakewood Township Police Department Street Crimes Unit were conducting narcotics related surveillance when they observed a Ford Expedition make an abrupt U-turn on John Street and park in a parking lot located on Jay Street.  Detectives then observed a female passenger of the Expedition exit the vehicle and enter a Mercedes Benz parked nearby. When the female re-entered the Expedition, Detectives approached the vehicle and asked the driver, later identified as Myers, to exit the vehicle.  Myers was detained by Detectives and consented to a search of his person and the motor vehicle.  A search of Myers by Detectives found approximately 23 grams of cocaine packaged for re-sale and two bricks of heroin.  Myers was taken into custody without incident.  He was transported to the Ocean County Jail, and later released as a consequence of New Jersey Bail Reform.

Prosecutor Billhimer acknowledges the diligent efforts of Assistant Prosecutor Alexander Becker who handled the case on behalf of the State, and commends the Lakewood Township Police Department and Lakewood Township Police Department Street Crimes Unit for their combined and collective assistance in connection with this investigation resulting in Meyer’s guilty plea, and now his state prison sentence.
