LAKEWOOD MEN CHARGED WITH MURDER TO REMAIN DETAINED PENDING TRIAL

Ocean County First Assistant Prosecutor Michael T. Nolan, Jr., announced that on December 9, 2024, the Honorable Pamela M. Snyder, J.S.C., ordered that Jerron Evans, 41, of Lakewood, shall remained detained in the Ocean County Jail on the charge of Murder in connection with the death of Rondell Proctor, which occurred on May 27, 2010, in Toms River.

 

On December 10, 2024, the Honorable Dina M. Vicari, J.S.C., ordered that Maurice Cole, 36, also of Lakewood, shall remained detained in the Ocean County Jail on the charge of Murder – likewise in connection with Mr. Proctor’s death.

 

Both Evans and Cole have been lodged in the Ocean County Jail since their apprehension on December 3, 2024. The detention hearings were handled by Senior Assistant Prosecutor Kaitlyn Burke.

 

The charges referenced above are merely accusations and the press and public are reminded that all defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
