BRICK TOWNSHIP MAN SENTENCED TO STATE PRISON FOR POSSESSION OF CHILD SEXUAL ABUSE MATERIAL

Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer announced that on October 3, 2025, Dennis Hubert, 43, of Brick Township, was sentenced by the Honorable Dina M. Vicari, J.S.C., to five years New Jersey State Prison relative to his previously entered guilty plea to Possession of Child Sexual Abuse Material.  Hubert is currently serving a sentence in New Jersey State Prison for a violation of parole in an unrelated case.  This sentence will run concurrent to Hubert’s parole violation sentence.  Hubert pled guilty to the charge before Judge Vicari on May 9, 2025.

This investigation was the result of a referral from the New Jersey State Police Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force.  The ICAC Task Force received a cyber-tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children that an individual was sending/receiving images of Child Sexual Abuse Material from the internet.

An investigation by the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office High Tech Crime Squad identified an IP address associated with a Brick Township residence as the location from which the individual was accessing images of Child Sexual Abuse Material from the internet.  That individual was ultimately identified as Hubert

On October 24, 2024, Detectives from the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office High Tech Crime Squad, United States Department of Homeland Security Investigations, and Brick Township Police Department, executed a court-authorized search warrant on Hubert’s residence.  An initial forensic examination of Hubert’s electronic devices led to the discovery of several items of child sexual abuse material.  Hubert was taken into custody at his residence and transported to the Ocean County Jail.

Prosecutor Billhimer acknowledges the diligent efforts of Supervising Assistant Prosecutor Shanon Chant-Berry who handled the case on behalf of the State, and commends the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office High Tech Crime Squad, United States Department of Homeland Security Investigations, Brick Township Police Department, New Jersey State Police Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, and National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, for their collaborative assistance in connection with this investigation leading to Hubert’s arrest, guilty plea, and  now his state prison sentence.
