Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer announced that on January 30, 2026, Christopher Brondi, 67, of Lakewood, was sentenced by the Honorable Kenneth T. Palmer, J.S.C., to ten (10) years New Jersey State Prison with a five (5) year period of parole ineligibility relative to his previously entered guilty plea to Distribution of Child Sexual Abuse Material. Additionally, Brondi will be subject to Parole Supervision for Life, and is required to register as a Megan’s Law offender. Brondi pled guilty to the charge before Judge Palmer on September 15, 2025.
An investigation by the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office High Tech Crime Squad identified an IP address associated with a residence in Lakewood as a location from which an individual was uploading images of child sexual abuse material to the internet. That individual was ultimately identified as Brondi.
On May 29, 2024, Detectives from the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office High Tech Crime Squad executed a court-authorized search warrant on Brondi’s residence. An initial forensic examination of electronics recovered from Brondi’s residence led to the discovery of less than 1,000 items of child sexual abuse material. Brondi was charged accordingly, and taken into custody at Lakewood Township Police Headquarters. He was transported to the Ocean County Jail and subsequently released as a consequence of New Jersey Bail Reform.
A thorough forensic examination of the electronics recovered from Brondi’s residence revealed that Brondi had, in fact, shared more than 25 items of child sexual abuse material on the internet by utilizing a file sharing program.
Prosecutor Billhimer acknowledges the diligent efforts of Supervising Assistant Prosecutor Shanon Chant-Berry who handled the case on behalf of the State, and commends the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office High Tech Crime Squad for their efforts in connection with this investigation leading to Brondi’s arrest, guilty plea, and now his state prison sentence.
