BRICK TOWNSHIP FATHER AND SON CHARGED WITH NARCOTICS DISTRIBUTION AND WEAPONS OFFENSES

Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer announced that Detectives from the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotics Strike Force collaborated with United States Postal Inspection Service, Ocean County Sheriff’s Office Drone Unit, Brick Township Police Department Street Crimes Unit, Brick Township Police Department Special Emergency Response Team, Brick Township Police Department  Patrol Division, Brick Township Police Department  K-9 Unit, Manchester Police Department Narcotics Enforcement Team, and Manchester Police Department Drone Unit, to conduct an extensive investigation into the distribution of illegal narcotics in the Ocean County area.

 

On June 16, 2026, the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotics Strike Force obtained a package – intercepted by United States Postal Service Postal Inspectors – containing approximately 15 grams of cocaine.  Investigation revealed that the cocaine was purchased via the dark web with crypto currency.  The package was to be delivered to Ryan Weil, 35, at his residence in Brick Township.  Detectives applied for and were granted a court-authorized search warrant for the subject residence.  On that same date, Detectives working in an undercover capacity delivered the package to Weil’s residence.  Shortly after the package was delivered, detectives observed Weil retrieve the package and bring it into the residence.

 

Detectives subsequently executed the search warrant on the residence.  As a result, Detectives seized the aforementioned package in addition to other contraband found throughout the house, including approximately 20 pounds of marijuana, quantities of heroin, methamphetamine, xanax, methylenedioxymethamphetamine (MDMA), oxycodone, ketamine, lysergic acid diethylamide (LSD), drug paraphernalia associated with narcotics distribution, three shotguns, one rifle, two handguns, and approximately $34,000 in United States Currency.  Also located at the residence was Ryan Weil’s father, Kenneth Weil, 74, of Brick Township.  Both men were taken into custody at the residence without incident.

 

Ryan Weil was charged with Possession of More than One-Half Ounce but Less than Five Ounces of Cocaine with Intent to Distribute, Possession of More than One-Half Ounce but Less than Five Ounces of Heroin/Fentanyl with Intent to Distribute, Possession of More than Five Pounds but Less than Twenty-Five Pounds of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute, Possession of Xanax with Intent to Distribute,  Possession of Less than One Ounce of Oxycodone with Intent to Distribute, Possession of Less than One-Half Ounce of MDMA with Intent to Distribute, Possession of Less than 100 Milligrams of LSD with Intent to Distribute, Possession of Cocaine, Possession of Heroin, Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Xanax, Possession of Oxycodone, Possession of LSD, Possession of MDMA, Conspiracy to Possess One-Half Ounce or More But Less than Five Ounces of Cocaine, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia,  Possession of a Firearm During a Controlled Dangerous Substance Offense, five counts of being a Certain Person Not to Possess a Firearm, and Financial Facilitation. Ryan Weil was transported to the Ocean County Jail.  On June 25, 2026, the Honorable Wendel E. Daniels, J.S.C. (retired and temporarily assigned on recall), ordered that Ryan Weil shall remain detained pending trial.

 

Kenneth Weil was charged with Possession of More than One-Half Ounce but Less than Five Ounces of Cocaine with Intent to Distribute, Possession of More than One-Half Ounce but Less than Five Ounces of Heroin/Fentanyl with Intent to Distribute, Possession of More than Five Pounds but Less than Twenty-Five Pounds of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute, Possession of Xanax with Intent to Distribute,  Possession of Less than One Ounce of Oxycodone with Intent to Distribute, Possession of Less than One-Half Ounce of MDMA with Intent to Distribute, Possession of Less than 100 Milligrams of LSD with Intent to Distribute, Possession of Cocaine, Possession of Heroin, Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Xanax, Possession of Oxycodone, Possession of LSD, Possession of MDMA, Conspiracy to Possess One-Half Ounce or More But Less than Five Ounces of Cocaine, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia,  Possession of a Firearm During a Controlled Dangerous Substance Offense, and Financial Facilitation. Kenneth Weil was transported to the Ocean County Jail and subsequently released as a consequence of New Jersey Bail Reform.

 

Prosecutor Billhimer commends the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotics Strike Force, Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Asset Forfeiture Unit, United States Postal Inspection Service, Ocean County Sheriff’s Office Drone Unit, Brick Township Police Department Street Crimes Unit, Brick Township Police Department Special Emergency Response Team, Brick Township Police Department Patrol Division, Brick Township Police Department  K-9 Unit, Manchester Police Department Narcotics Enforcement Team, and Manchester Police Department Drone Unit, for their combined and collaborative efforts in connection with this investigation.

 

 

The charges referenced above are merely accusations and the press and public are reminded that all defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
