Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer announced that on June 27, 2025, Justin Holden, 42, of Brick Township, pled guilty to Unlawful Possession of a Handgun before the Honorable the Honorable Kenneth T. Palmer, J.S.C., in connection with an incident that occurred on February 27, 2024, in Brick Township. At the time of his sentencing on August 22, 2025, the State will be seeking a term of five years New Jersey State Prison with a 42-month period of parole ineligibility.
On February 27, 2024, in furtherance of an ongoing investigation, the Brick Township Police Department Special Emergency Response Team executed court-authorized search warrants at a residence on Rocky Mountain Boulevard as well as a motor vehicle owned by Holden. As a result, Officers seized a Glock G43 9mm handgun and hollow point ammunition. Further investigation revealed that the handgun had been reported stolen out of Georgia. As a result, Holden was charged accordingly on a warrant and his name was entered into the National Crime Information Center Database.
On March 11, 2024, Holden was taken into custody by Officers from the Brick Township Police Department. He was transported to the Ocean County Jail and subsequently released as a consequence of New Jersey Bail Reform. Holden is presently lodged in the Ocean County Jail on an unrelated matter.
Prosecutor Billhimer acknowledges the diligent efforts of Assistant Prosecutor Genna Moscato and Assistant Prosecutor Alex Becker who are handling the case on behalf of the State, and commends the Brick Township Police Department and Brick Township Police Department Special Emergency Response Team for their efforts in connection with this investigation resulting in Holden’s guilty plea, and soon his state prison sentence.
