Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer announced that on August 28, 2026, Jaheim Wilson, 24, of Stockton, California, was sentenced by the Honorable Guy P. Ryan, P.J.Cr.P., to seven years New Jersey State Prison (NJSP) relative to his previously entered guilty plea to Burglary in connection with an incident that occurred in Point Pleasant Borough on August 7, 2025. The sentence will be subject to the terms of the No Early Release Act (NERA), meaning that Wilson will be required to serve at least 85 percent of his prison sentence before he may be considered for parole eligibility. Judge Ryan also sentenced Wilson to five years NJSP – with a 42-month period of parole ineligibility – relative to his previously entered guilty plea to Unlawful Possession of a Weapon in connection with the same incident. The sentences will run concurrently. Additionally, Judge Ryan sentenced Oleyah Brown, 22, also of Stockton, California, to seven years NJSP relative to her previously entered guilty plea to Burglary in connection with the incident that occurred in Point Pleasant Borough on August 7, 2025. This sentence will be likewise subject to the terms of the No Early Release Act. Both Wilson and Brown pled guilty to the charges before Judge Ryan on June 15, 2026.
On August 7, 2025, at approximately 1:38 p.m., Officers from the Point Pleasant Borough Police Department were summoned to a residence on Barton Avenue for a report of a home invasion with a gunshot having been fired. Responding Officers found that the rear door to the residence had been forced open and that the residence had been burglarized. An investigation by the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crime Unit and Point Pleasant Borough Police Department revealed that a male, who possessed a handgun, and a female kicked open the rear door of the residence while the occupant was present in the home. The pair then burglarized the residence, taking personal property belonging to the occupant. The male then fired a single gunshot into the air, and both he and the female fled the scene. Further investigation led to the identification of Wilson and Brown as the individuals who burglarized the residence.
On August 7, 2025, Ocean Prosecutor’s Office Detectives located Wilson and Brown in Toms River, and they were taken into custody without incident. Wilson and Brown were transported to the Ocean County Jail where they have been detained since that date.
