En abril 30, 2025, Officers from the Beachwood Police Department responded to the area of Mizzen Avenue and Locker Street for a report of a motor vehicle crash involving a bicyclist. An investigation by the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crime Unit-Vehicular Homicide Squad and Beachwood Police Department revealed that a 17-year-old minor was operating an electric bicycle northbound on Locker Street, when he was struck at the intersection of Locker Street and Mizzen Avenue by a vehicle traveling eastbound on Mizzen Avenue. The vehicle continued eastbound on Mizzen Avenue and failed to stop or call local authorities for assistance. The victim sustained serious injuries in the crash; he was airlifted to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune, where he was treated and ultimately released.
Continuing investigation revealed that the motor vehicle involved in the crash was registered to Michael A. Gable. Detectives contacted Michael A. Gable, who provided Detectives with misinformation as to the location of the vehicle and who might have been operating it. Detectives ultimately located the vehicle at a business in Lacey Township. Gable’s father, was operating the vehicle at the time of the crash, and that he was unlicensed. Michael P.
