El fiscal del condado de Ocean, Bradley D.. Billhimer anunció que en octubre 8, 2025, aproximadamente a 5:55 pm., Officers from the Jackson Township Police Department were summoned to the area of East Veterans Highway and West Lake Court for a report of a serious motor vehicle crash.
Una investigación realizada por la Unidad de Delitos Mayores-Escuadrón de Homicidios Vehiculares de la Oficina del Fiscal del Condado de Ocean y el Departamento de Policía del Municipio de Jackson determinó que un 2019 Ford F-150 pickup truck – operated by an 18 year-old female driver and containing a front seat passenger – was traveling eastbound on East Veterans Highway when it crossed over into the westbound lane and struck a 2009 Nissan Altima head-on, being operated by a 16-year-old male driver. The driver of the Nissan was transported to Monmouth Medical Center-Southern Campus in Lakewood where he succumbed to his injuries sustained in the crash. The driver and passenger of the Ford were likewise transported to Monmouth Medical Center-Southern Campus for treatment of minor injuries.
The crash remains under investigation by the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crime Unit-Vehicular Homicide Squad and Jackson Township Police Department.
