El fiscal del condado de Ocean, Bradley D.. Billhimer anunció que en febrero 6, 2026, a juvenile was charged with Terroristic Threats and Causing False Public Alarm in connection with an incident that occurred in Lakewood Township on February 5, 2026.
En febrero 5, 2026, aproximadamente a 2:45 pm., the Lakewood Township Police were advised that Georgian Court University had received a phone call advising them that there was a bomb in a University dorm room. University buildings were evacuated by law enforcement. The Lakewood Township Police Department and Ocean County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Unit cleared each building at the University.
An investigation by the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Gangs/Intelligence/Homeland Security Unit, Oficina de detectives del Departamento de Policía del municipio de Lakewood, and United States Department of Homeland Security revealed that the phone call came from a juvenile residing in Hazlet Township, Condado de Monmouth. The juvenile is currently being detained in the Ocean County Juvenile Detention Center.
NJSA. 2A4A-60 precludes the release of additional information regarding juveniles charged as delinquent.
