El fiscal del condado de Ocean, Bradley D.. Billhimer anunció que en octubre 3, 2025, aproximadamente a 7:30 pm., the Lakewood Township Police and Fire Departments were dispatched to a structure fire at Piner Elementary School on East County Line Road. Emergency personnel discovered an active structure fire and were able to extinguish the blaze.
The cause and origin of the fire are currently under investigation by the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crime Unit-Arson Squad, Oficina de detectives del Departamento de Policía del municipio de Lakewood, Unidad de Investigación de la Escena del Crimen de la Oficina del Sheriff del Condado de Ocean, y la oficina del jefe de bomberos del estado de Nueva Jersey.
