Billhimer anunció que en enero 16, 2026, Lloyd Ferrara, 30, del río Toms, was charged with Operating a Motor Vehicle with a Suspended Driver’s License While Involved in a Motor Vehicle Crash Resulting in Serious Bodily Injury, in connection with a motor vehicle crash that occurred in Brick Township on January 15, 2026.
En enero 16, 2026, aproximadamente a 10:15 pm., Oficiales del Departamento de Policía de Brick Township respondieron al área de la Ruta 88 and Jack Martin Boulevard for a report of a motor vehicle crash involving a motor vehicle and an electric scooter. Una investigación de la Unidad de Delitos Mayores de la Fiscalía del Condado de Ocean- Vehicular Homicide Squad and Brick Township Police Department revealed that a 1988 Ford pick-up truck – operated by Ferrara – viajaba hacia el oeste por la ruta 88 and attempted to make a right hand turn into a convenience store parking lot when it failed to yield to an electric scooter that was traveling eastbound on Route 88, causing a head-on collision. The driver of the electric scooter, a 40-year-old male, was ejected from the scooter and dragged under the pick-up truck for a short distance. The driver of the electric scooter was transported to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune where he is listed in serious but stable condition.
Continuing investigation revealed that Ferrara was operating the motor vehicle with a suspended driver’s license at the time of the crash, and the license plates on the pick-up truck were fictious.
Responding Officers observed that Ferrara appeared to be intoxicated at the scene. Basado en esas observaciones, Los oficiales intentaron administrar las pruebas de sobriedad de campo estandarizadas.
