Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer announced that on October 8, 2025, at approximately 5:55 p.m., Officers from the Jackson Township Police Department were summoned to the area of East Veterans Highway and West Lake Court for a report of a serious motor vehicle crash.
An investigation by the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crime Unit-Vehicular Homicide Squad and Jackson Township Police Department determined that a 2019 Ford F-150 pickup truck – operated by an 18 year-old female driver and containing a front seat passenger – was traveling eastbound on East Veterans Highway when it crossed over into the westbound lane and struck a 2009 Nissan Altima head-on, being operated by a 16-year-old male driver. The driver of the Nissan was transported to Monmouth Medical Center-Southern Campus in Lakewood where he succumbed to his injuries sustained in the crash. The driver and passenger of the Ford were likewise transported to Monmouth Medical Center-Southern Campus for treatment of minor injuries.
The crash remains under investigation by the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crime Unit-Vehicular Homicide Squad and Jackson Township Police Department.
