HAZLET MAN SENTENCED TO STATE PRISON FOR NARCOTICS DISTRIBUTION

Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer announced that on December 5, 2025, Brandon Torsiello, 25, of Hazlet Township, was sentenced by the Honorable Guy P. Ryan, P.J.Cr.P., to five years New Jersey State Prison relative to a previously entered guilty plea to Possession of More than One-Half Ounce but Less than Five Ounces of Cocaine with Intent to Distribute in connection with an incident that occurred on December 5, 2024, in Brick Township.  Torsiello pled guilty to the charge before Judge Ryan on October 6, 2025.

On December 5, 2024, Officers assigned to the Brick Township Police Department Street Crimes Unit observed Torsiello participate in activity consistent with a controlled dangerous substance transaction.  As Torsiello exited the parking lot in his motor vehicle, Detectives effectuated a motor vehicle stop on Torsiello’s vehicle. The Ocean County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Unit responded to the scene and did an open-air sniff of the vehicle.  The K-9 provided a positive alert for narcotics.  Torsiello was taken into custody and transported to Brick Township Police Headquarters.  A subsequent search of Torsiello’s person at police headquarters yielded quantities of cocaine, methamphetamine, Xanax, and suboxone.  Torsiello was charged accordingly and transported to the Ocean County Jail, where he has been detained since that date.  On December 7, 2024, Detectives executed a court-authorized search warrant on Torsiello’s vehicle which yielded additional quantities of cocaine and assorted controlled dangerous substances.

Prosecutor Billhimer acknowledges the diligent efforts of Senior Assistant Prosecutor Stephen Burke who is handled the case on behalf of the State, and commends the Brick Township Police Department Street Crimes Unit, Brick Township Police Department Detective Bureau, and Ocean County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Unit, for their combined efforts in connection with this investigation leading to Torsiello’s guilty plea and now his state prison sentence.
