LAKEWOOD WOMAN CHARGED WITH MURDER TO REMAIN DETAINED PENDING TRIAL

Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer announced that on May 21, 2025, the Honorable Wendel E. Daniels, J.S.C. (retired and temporarily assigned on recall), ordered that Caitlin Gibson, 28, of Lakewood, shall remain detained in the Ocean County Jail pending trial on the charge of Murder in connection with the death of her infant daughter.

 

On May 20, 2025, the Honorable David M. Fritch, J.S.C., ordered that Ruben Santiago, 36, of Lakewood, Gibson’s co-defendant, shall remain detained in the Ocean County Jail pending trial on the charge of Murder in connection with the same case.

 

Both Santiago and Gibson have been lodged in the Ocean County Jail since their apprehension on May 7, 2025.  Today’s detention hearing was handled by Supervising Assistant Prosecutor Meghan O’Neill.

 

The charges referenced above are merely accusations and the press and public are reminded that all defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
