NEW YORK MAN CHARGED WITH ATTEMPTED MURDER AND WEAPONS OFFENSES TO REMAIN DETAINED PENDING TRIAL

 

Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer announced that on October 17, 2024, the Honorable Wendel E. Daniels, J.S.C. (retired and temporarily assigned on recall), ordered that Marciano Sanchez, 40, whose last known address was Queens, New York, shall remained detained in the Ocean County Jail on charges of Attempted Murder, Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose, and Unlawful Possession of a Weapon all in connection with an incident that occurred in Brick Township on November 29, 2010.

 

Sanchez, who had been a fugitive from justice, was apprehended in New York City on October 2, 2024.  On October 9, 2024, he was extradited from New York and has been lodged in the Ocean County Jail since that date.

 

The detention hearing was handled by Assistant Ocean County Prosecutor Nicholas Mezza.

 

 

The charges referenced above are merely accusations and the press and public are reminded that all defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
