ASBURY PARK MAN CHARGED WITH MURDER TO REMAIN DETAINED PENDING TRIAL

Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer announced that on February 22, 2024, the Honorable Wendel E. Daniels, J.S.C. (retired and temporarily assigned on recall), ordered that Eric Manzanares, 24, of Asbury Park, shall remain detained in the Ocean County Jail pending trial on the charges of Murder, Attempted Murder, Aggravated Assault, Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose, and Unlawful Possession of a Weapon.

 

Manzanares has been lodged in the Ocean County Jail since his extradition to Ocean County, New Jersey, from Prince William County, Virginia, on January 24, 2024.  The detention hearing was handled by Supervising Assistant Prosecutor Jamie Schron.

 

 

The charges referenced above are merely accusations and the press and public are reminded that all defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
