Deputy First Assistant Prosecutor Robert J. Armstrong earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree from Rutgers University in 1989, and his law degree (with high honors) from Rutgers University School of Law in 1992. He was admitted to the New Jersey Bar in 1992, and served as a Law Clerk in the Superior Court of New Jersey, Ocean Vicinage, for the 1992-1993 court term.
Following his judicial clerkship, Deputy First Assistant Prosecutor Armstrong worked as an Associate Attorney with the law firm Dasti, Murphy & Wellerson in Forked River from 1993 through 1995, and thereafter with Citta, Holzapfel, Millard, Zabarsky & Leahey in Toms River from 1995 through 1998 (serving as Assistant Dover Township attorney from 1996 through 1998).
In 1998, former Ocean County Prosecutor E. David Millard appointed Armstrong to be an Assistant Prosecutor. Since then, Armstrong has served the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office with distinction and professionalism in numerous capacities and was promoted to the position of Deputy First Assistant Prosecutor by Prosecutor Billhimer in October 2018.
Deputy First Assistant Prosecutor Armstrong is a member of the Ocean County Bar Association.
